Solo dining ain't just for loners --- think business travelers, parents who find it cheaper than therapy, just to name a few.

It's all about discovering and understanding some of the many ways it can work for me and thee.

Oh and I guess we share a trait in hooker magnetism. For some reason, they take one look at me and instantly think, John.

Ha ha! To be honest, I like dining alone sometimes. It gives me a chance to catch up on my backlog of The Economist. Yes, the TL/Polk is great for dining solo. One reason I tend to eat alone a lot is that I eat at very non-traditional times for Americans (lunch around 1:30 or so, dinner around 9). San Francisco is typically a very early town and doesn't really accommodate my late eating habits. However, the TL is chock full of late(r) night eating spots.

While more on the pricier side (and the Nob Hood side), I'd add the counter at Nob Hill Grille to your list. Just avoid it around weekend brunch time.
